Alternatives to Bandcamp
I just found out about free opensource software for hosting your own music catalog, called "Faircamp." This is really cool for anyone who is even slightly worried about the leadership and funding sources at Bandcamp. There is a way to take back our music: to never let it out of our hands; to monetize it ourselves. I'll tell you plainly, this isn't a one-click install on c-panel, it requires just a little bit of sweat equity on the part of whoever has the keys to the website hosting.
